I am a 43 year old group fitness instructor at Fort Bliss, TX, teaching to both soldiers and their families. Prior to getting pregnant I was teaching 10 classes a week. Of the 4 types of classes I teach, i actually do the workout with them for 3, only demonstrating moves for the 4th. Throughout the entire pregnancy, and with the blessing of my doctors, I continued to teach those ten classes until I was 35 weeks pregnant. At 9 months pregnant I cut my class schedule in half and taught only 5 classes each week. I taught through the entire month of March, but continued to work out the final week - baby's due date was April 4. Staying fit allowed me to have the mobility and strength that made for an easy and comfortable pregnancy, and helped me recover post pregnancy, returning back to activity less than 3 weeks postpartum, and back to teaching less than 6 weeks postpartum.
