Here in Wisconsin, it gets really cold! And when it does, my kids don't pay attention in school as much as they should. I think the cold really gets to them and it becomes distracting. Over the years I have learned some ways to inspire my kids to stay focused on their school materials when this happens.

The process of learning should not be limited to classrooms only; instead, parents should constantly motivate and inspire their children which will allow them to learn new things. Often the problem regarding a child’s concentration span or disinterested nature arises in the form of ADHD, which concerns parents a lot as they want to see a certain spark in their young ones.

To keep your children focused or teaching them new ideas can be a tough task when its cold especially if you want to inspire them to learn all the time. Introducing children to inspiring stories so that they have something to look up to is a great way to get them motivated. To provide you a detailed idea, the following steps guide you towards identifying some ways to keep your children inspired to learn and to maintain their spark.

Allow your child to be more expressive

Some children tend to shy away from expressing their feelings or observations about certain things they notice every day. Or at other times, parents fail to pay enough attention to their child’s observatory nature. The first step to uplift your child’s personality is to pay specific attention to their interests. Build a conversation around something that they mention instead of forcing them to absorb a piece of information they might not be interested in. This habit will allow them to be more open and easily inspired by positive things happening around them.

Involve visual, audio and physical learning

Do not limit the child to just storybooks or PlayStation or outdoor activities, only. Bringing in a mixture of different opportunities always helps the child develop a keen understanding for more than one activity going on around them. This uplifts their senses and keeps him inspired as they grow on in life.

Organize, Evaluate and Focus

Teaching a child to organize their routine, assignments, work and even toys will inject within him/her a sense of control and authority that will help in growing more responsible. The child develops an interest in organized ideas on which they can further evaluate and focus. For example, during exams if your child has assignments and tests organized in a file, they will not feel demotivated or scattered at once. Instead, they would want to learn more by investing their time.

Introduce new ideas and quotes

To ignite a spark within your child or to inspire him/her at a young age, it is important to introduce them to different ideas or inspirational quotes. This will get them going through tough times as they would feel a sense of belonging. These sayings by famous personalities such as the Dalai Lama or Khalil Gibran would automatically induce within them the passion to achieve something great and learn from a young age.

Gift them inspiring books

Inspirational books and many other things contribute to the development of a young mind. Keeping them inspired and motivated by providing them a role model or a success-story has proved to be a great source of learning for many children.
