I am a wife and mother of twins. I have my Master’s degree in Family and Consumer sciences (Home Ec) and taught 4 years of high school FCS before deciding to stay home with my kids. I grew up in a smaller MO town and learned to cook mostly from my mom who learned from her mom. I am a mid-west girl through and through and my style of cooking is simple and country kitchen approved. Ever since I was a kid I wanted to have my own cooking show. “Cooking with Courtney” was the name and I even had a theme song all written out. I provide an entertaining and educational view on cooking and love helping others learn to cook and enjoy the process. My blog is my version of “Cooking with Courtney." I love the 50’s and anything vintage/retro as you can see by the theme of my blog. I am taking you back to the basics of cooking, where real ingredients and plenty of love are in every dish. So pour on some more gravy and keep it country kitchen approved!
I have a teaching background which is I use in my approach to cooking and sharing my knowledge through my videos. I film and edit all of my own videos in my kitchen (while my kids are at preschool ;0) I enjoy cooking for my family and friends and I love to teach others to cook and to give them confidence in the kitchen.
Here are just a few of the videos on my blog.
I would love a chance to come on The Today Show and teach America to cook for their families! For more recipes and video see my blog http://countrykitchenapproved.blogspot.com/
