Hola, my name is Yvette and I’m a Latina addicted to my Mexican heritage. I’m a recipe developer, food writer, food photographer, YouTuber and blogger over at MuyBuenoCookbook.com, an award-winning food blog celebrating home-style Mexican recipes served with a side of heartwarming family stories.

I was raised in El Paso, Texas and draw culinary inspiration from my grandmother's old-world northern Mexican recipes and my mother's comforting south of the border home-style dishes.

In 2012, I published my first cookbook, Muy Bueno: Three Generations of Authentic Mexican Flavor, written with my sister Veronica and mother Evangelina. In 2014, it was republished en Español: Muy Bueno: Tres Generaciones de Auténtico Sabor Mexicano.

In 2015, I published a fun little cocktail book, Latin Twist: Traditional & Modern Cocktails, written with my blogging amiga Vianney.

Though I write primarily about my culinary adventures on my blog, I have also been an on-camera host for brands like Avocados from Mexico and Eggland’s Best.

I'd love to be a guest on The Today Show and show everyone how to make some of my favorite Mexican comfort foods, because seriously who doesn’t love authentic Mexican food? It is my DREAM to be on The Today Show and I would LOVE the opportunity to make some red or green enchiladas, shrimp ceviche, pumpkin empanadas, or Mexican bread pudding.

Maybe a segment sharing how to celebrate Day of the Dead by making a home altar and traditional Day of the Dead dishes.

Besides my blog, I have also been featured in Latina magazine, Cosmo for Latinas, People en Español, and the websites of NBC, Today, The Huffington Post, SAVEUR, Siempre Mujer, and BuzzFeed, among others. I have also been on several radio and TV shows. You can see some live Colorado TV segments here.

In 2012, my proudest moment was when I participated in a live intimate round-table discussion with First Lady Michelle Obama, to discuss some of the issues impacting Hispanic families across the nation, including the health and future of children.

I have also been an active supporter of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign.

I have devoted my life to my three passions. First, above all else is mi familia. But when I am working, I am devoted to developing healthy Latin-inspired recipes, and to educating others about how to enjoy traditional cultural cuisine in a healthful way while keeping traditions alive. I live in the beautiful state of Colorado with my husband and two children.

Thank you so much for your consideration in this opportunity and for supporting food bloggers. Please vote for me! I'd love the opportunity to share my love of Mexican food and cooking on The Today Show.

Salud,

Yvette
