The recipes on Sweet Life are inspired by my own exploration of childhood memories and the global food culture that makes up South Texas cuisine. Simply put, Sweet Life is a delicious blend of tastes and flavors from my life.
On Sweet Life, I express my passions for food, photography and familia gathering at the table to enjoy soul satisfying meals together and I love shaking up a great cocktail.
My journey into cocktails began with simply sharing an easy margarita I whipped up to enjoy with my little sister who was visiting from out of town. Little did I know what would happen after I hit publish on that blog post. My readers loved it. They wanted more and more cocktails and who was I to deny them?
Today I lovingly known as the Margarita Queen by my blogging peers (I have an entire page dedicated to margaritas) and am one of the leading Latina Cocktail bloggers. On Sweet Life I strive to introduce my readers to new, exciting spirits, offers tips on how to make cocktails at home and showcase classic cocktails all made with a Latin Twist.
This recognition blessed me with the chance to publish my first book Latin Twist with my co-author Yvette. Latin Twist: From Latin America and Spain, these cocktails are the perfect party primer and resource for the busy modern host. Latin Twist delves into the history of each country’s liquors, followed by traditional cocktails and original recipes. Go beyond mojitos and sangria to discover a luscious Passion Fruit Caipirinha from Brazil, or a fruity Borgoña from Colombia.
