Chocolate cupcake topped with fluffy chocolate frosting, drizzled with caramel sauce and sprinkled with margarita salt. Truly a party in your mouth!

Chocolate Salted Caramel Cupcakes

  • Yield: 14 regular cupcakes
  • Prep Time: 8 min
  • Cooking Time: 15 min

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • ½ cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ teasp vanilla
  • ½ teasp butter extract
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1-½ cups flour
  • ½ teasp baking powder
  • ½ teasp baking soda
  • ¼ teasp salt
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • ½ Tablespoon vanilla
  • ½ Tablespoon butter extract
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • 4 cups 10x refined powdered sugar

Preparation

  1. Mix well
  2. scoop into cupcake papers
  3. bake 15 min on 350
  4. cool and top with frosting
  5. drizzle caramel
  6. sprinkle with margarita salt
