"Super" fun dessert to add a funny twist to your Game Day feast! This luscious chocolatey treat will have your guests giggling and asking for "Sudden Dessert Overtime!" Though a little challenging, this one is yummy and sweet....like VICTORY!

Deflated Football Souffle!

  • Servings: 8 ounces
  • Yield: 4 portions

Ingredients

  • 8 oz SemiSweet Baker's Chocolate
  • 2 T Butter + more for greasing ramekins
  • 7 eggs, separated
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar, + more for dusting ramekins
  • Salt
  • White decorator frosting (Store bought is okay, and easier!)

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease ramekins with butter and dust with sugar.
  2. In a double boiler, or a roomy bowl resting on a pot of simmering water, melt chocolate with butter, then remove from heat.
  3. With an electric mixer, beat egg whites and a pinch of salt to soft peaks, then add sugar and beat to stiff peaks.
  4. Whisk egg yolks until they're a paler yellow, then GENTLY stir egg yolks into melted chocolate.
  5. Fold egg whites into chocolate mixture. Some marbling is okay! It's more important that whites stay as full as possible.
  6. Add mixture to 4 8 oz ramekins, or 1 large.
  7. Place ramekins in center of your oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Try not to jump up and down in excitement!
  9. Carefully remove from oven (Tres Tres HOT!)
  10. Using a decorators tip, draw a cross hatch pattern to simulate Football Laces.
  11. Serve (maybe with Vanilla Ice Cream!) and enjoy the giggles and cheers!

Despite what the Cordon Bleu might have you believe, this classic recipe is a lot easier than you'd think! Light and decadent, this one will "relieve" the pressure of any 4th quarter craziness. The best part is, even if it falls, it will only look more like a sadly deflated pigskin! And after all, shouldn't dessert be FUN? You can see more silly Game Day Game Day Gastronomy for this year here: https://youtu.be/jFV4R5CJCOw

Cheers!
