Being a mom is the most precious gift of god. And I am fortunate enough that I have gotten this golden opportunity twice in my life. Being a mom of two cute dolls I feel my selves the luckiest person in the world. Their antics have given me many hours of fun and laughter together. The joy of being a mom is a feeling that is completely indescribable in words. But the journey is not only the bundle of joy every time….it is an equally changeling, exhausting and sometimes frustrating as well.

Definitely, we lived in a predictable world. We all got married, have kids, make them grown up and try to fulfil our all responsibilities for our kids in the very best manner, just like our parents did. But during this wonderful journey we have several awe and awful moment. The powerful mixed emotions enthralled our parenting ride every day.

Parenting had lots of expectations. It is believed that a real parent is someone who puts that child above their own needs and desires. And while doing all these we often forget to take care of own selves and as a result, suffer from stress and anxiety.

Stress leads to various hormonal changes in our body. When we encountered a stressful event, our endocrinal gland excretes different hormones (such as adrenaline, cortisol and epinephrine) and this raised level of hormones causes the increase in respiratory rate, heart rate and sweating. These hormonal changes help body to produce a "fight or flight phenomenon" and after sometimes the body comes in a normal state, but when we suffer from a stage of "chronic stress", these constant raised hormonal level lead to hypertension, sleeplessness, depression and other psychosomatic disorders, so it is better to take early steps and use some mom distressing strategies to enjoy a healthy and happy life.

Here I am sharing some of my favourite mom destressing strategies:

Penning down your emotions

Sometimes we felt abandoned and isolated because of failures in life. Sometimes we felt a pressurised daily routine because of tons of responsibilities. Penning down your random thoughts is the easiest way to express your heart's elation. And the good part is that when we write down what is bothering us, it makes us feel relaxed and we often get a solution of the existing problem. It is similar to have a kind of heart to heart conversation with our dear one. So whenever you feel tense or frustrated try to penning down your thoughts, definitely, you will discover a great solution to release your anxiety.

Talk to your family and friends

Nowadays, we live in a high-tech world. A virtual world, where we know a person who is the mile away from us (through the internet) but we did not have any neighbourhood connection. Communication gap is the main cause of stress among family members. It is the root cause of several mental and psychological issues like Depression, sleeplessness, anxiety disorders. Constructive communication with family and friends is a great stress reliever. So discuss your problem with your friends and family, try to clear all misunderstandings, make an open heart conversation with your family and friend is the most successful strategy to combat your stress and anxiety.

Go for a nature walk

Nature is the creation of god. Scientific studies suggested that nature has a sort of healing properties, it relieves tension, anxiety and reduces blood pressure, ease the muscle tension. Taking in the sights and sounds of nature improve mood and relive the anxiety. As a mom, we have to deal with repeatedly tasks and we often need a break. A short break as a nature walk even in your backyard had a significant psychological benefit. Nature is a positive distraction, which makes us calm and happier.

Be creative and focus on your hobby

One of my favourite ways for stress relief is the being creative and spends some quality time alone for your hobby. Whether it is drawing, painting, writing, crafting or singing and dancing….options are endless. When we engaged in any form of creative activities, we had a state of complete mental involvement in something and that works like a meditation. It has a great potential to reduce stress and can alleviate the burden of various psychosomatic disorders. So mom, bring back those creative juices in your life once again and enjoy the harmony of life with peace and happiness.

Eat healthy and exercise regularly

This is the easiest piece of advice to receive or to offer someone, who wants to be distressed, but actually, it is a most difficult thing to follow. During every day hectic life, we often get more focused on our jobs and responsibilities and involuntarily ignored our health. And this ignorance causes a wreaking havoc on our physical and mental fitness. It may cause nutritional deficiencies, muscle pain, weakness of the immune system, even a state of chronic stress that is very harmful and make our body to vulnerable to other systemic infections. So pre-plan your daily routine and schedule some time for proper healthy eating and exercise is the best tool to deal with stress.

Scientific studies suggested that exercise produces endorphins (good neurochemical) that help in building stamina and mood lifting. Even 5 minutes of aerobic exercise provide excellent health benefits. And nutritious healthy diet helps in strengthening of our immune system and makes our body strong enough to deal with stress.

Pre-preparation and organisational strategies

The major cause of routine stress is the lack of pre-preparation and organisational strategies. Shopping, cooking, routine tasks, professional and social responsibilities overloaded our life with uneasiness. But the simplest thing to manage them effectively is to make a to-do list and use some simple pre-planning for your tasks is the magical way to reduce the stress and irritation. I always prefer to use a weekly planner for all important tasks that help me a lot at the time of a stressful event. It works like a mentor in the difficult situation.

Last but not the least tries to enjoy each and every moment of life. Sometimes, when we had too much to do and feel piled up with tasks, we often forget to enjoy tiny sweet moments of joy and happiness; everything seems like a burden for us. So forget those unnecessary negative circles of thoughts and try to enjoy each tiny moment of life. We cannot take care of our families unless we take time and care for ourselves, so try these simple de-stressing strategies and enjoy a Happy and healthy life.

Moms, these were the my ideas for de-stressing. What are yours? Which strategies you liked most? Please share with us.
