Teachers — don’t you just love them? Well, most of them anyway. I have a great fondness for teachers because I was raised by one, my grandmother was one, my mother-in-law is one, and I have had numerous great ones throughout my life.

You know the other teachers I love? My children’s teachers. I have been so lucky that my children have been given the opportunity to be taught by such knowledgable, talented, charismatic, and loving educators.

I once had a six-month stint as a teacher at a bi-lingual preschool in Miami after I left law school, and one thing I learned is that teachers must be funny and use humor in order to handle the day-to-day monotony and craziness that goes along with being an instructor.

So…for all my teacher friends out there…it is my absolute pleasure to bring you a remix to the ever-popular, “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor:

ALL ABOUT MY CLASS (REMIX)

BY: T.W.A. (TEACHERS WITH ANSWERS)

Because you know I’m all about my class, ‘Bout my class, being great I’m all ’bout my class, ’bout my class, being great I’m all ’bout my class, ’bout my class, being great I’m all ’bout my class, ’bout my class

Yeah it’s pretty clear, that there are 22 But I can teach them, teach them like I’m supposed to do ‘Cause I got that look, look, in my face All the learning happens inside of my space I see the children working, they trying to not flop We know the struggle is real Come on now, I won’t stop If you got brains, brains, just raise ’em up ‘Cause every one of you is smart From the bottom to the top (of the class) Yeah, my principal — she told me don’t worry about your scores She says, those children they like a little more charisma inside the doors You know I won’t be no robot, boring fuddy-duddy, So, if that’s what’s you’re expecting, Then go ahead and move along

Because you know I’m all about my class, ‘Bout my class, being great I’m all ’bout my class, ’bout my class, being great I’m all ’bout my class, ’bout my class, being great I’m all ’bout my class, ’bout my class

I’m bringing intelligence back Go ahead and tell them naysayers, Hey No, I’m just playing I know you think you lack, But I’m here to tell you that, Every one of you is perfect from the bottom to the top (of the class) Yeah, my principal she told me don’t worry about your scores She says, those children they like a little more charisma inside the doors You know I won’t be no robot, boring fuddy-duddy,

So, if that’s what’s you’re into Then go ahead and move along

Because you know I’m all about my class, ‘Bout my class, being great I’m all ’bout my class, ’bout my class, being great I’m all ’bout my class, ’bout my class, being great I’m all ’bout my class, ’bout my class

Boom. Mic drop. Teacher out.

Be sure to share this with a teacher you know and you may just help to bring them some much needed laughter and joy as they prepare for the return of their students.
