As a busy mom, you are likely pulled in dozens of directions multiple times throughout the day, however you still want to look and feel good the way only exercise is able to provide. Often times, because life can become a bit overwhelming, your workout is the first item on your daily to-do list to be overlooked due to schedules and exhaustion. The goods news is that most days, you can cram in an effective workout without leaving your home in minimal time and without fancy equipment.

Chair Workouts

Chair workouts are not just for retirees anymore. Be sure to use a solid chair with four legs for the best results. A recliner is not going to give you the results you seek. A standard kitchen table chair would be ideal for the most effective results. This type of strength training and toning works by using your own weight as resistance. The best part about these exercises is that you can do them any time of the day when you have five or ten minutes even if you are not alone. And, you can even do them while you multitask such as whilst on hold with someone on the phone.

Jump Rope and Jumping Jacks

You can burn up to 10 calories per minute jump roping and by doing jumping jacks. These intense activities are another fast and effective home workout for busy moms. You only need 10 minutes at a time to burn off excessive calories. If you can squeeze in a 10-minute session 3 times throughout the day, you can burn up to 300 calories. You will want to be sure to use a floor space on which to jump that is highly secure such as a patio or basement.

Planking, Pushups and Squats

Your body weight provides an exceptional option for toning and strength training. As an added bonus, these exercises do not require much space and take very little time during the day to see results. Planking, pushups and squats will provide you with stunning definition without giving you bulky muscles. If you are able to spare ten minutes each day, you will begin to see results in no time.

Swimming

Pools at home provide a great exercise option for busy moms. Swimming burns more calories in a shorter amount of time than most aerobic activities. Whether you have the option to use inground pools Naples and other warm-climate communities or you live on a body of water, swimming is a fast way to burn calories and to tone your entire body quickly.

Yoga

One of the greatest benefits of yoga is the calming effect it has on one’s chaotic life. If you are able to spare 10 to 20 minutes a few times a week, you will begin to feel more relaxed and your life might begin to feel slightly more manageable. Your state of relaxation may be short-lived, however it will help you to minimize overall stress throughout the day. And, it will also tone your muscles and provide you with necessary cardio essential to your health.
