Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

Kyle is one of my husband’s best friends and he’s from the great state of Louisiana.

And this is how he greets his kids when they step off the school bus on the second day of school. Because he promises not to do it on the first day of school...

As many of our children head back to school - in person or via virtual - let’s all remember to be the Kyle. The kind of parent who picks their child up from school or greets them at the school bus or makes their lunch at home mid-virtual day with a reason to smile.

It’s not always easy.

2020 took a lot out of me as a parent and as a person. For the first time in my life, I look back at the past year during this first week of the New Year and remember my frustrations and faults just as much as my joys and strengths. Even during a pandemic, our children shouldn’t have to feel that way too - or certainly not as much as we do - and it’s our job to make sure it doesn’t happen.

That’s why we should be the Kyle.

Maybe not in a superhero suit or a Tiger King costume but something along those lines.
