Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

You know how everyone loves Lizzo?

It's cause that woman TELLS. IT. LIKE. IT. IS.

Whereas, a good portion of the rest of us, we hesitate to do just that.

Why?

Well, because we don't want to look rude or come off as too aggressive.

I should know, as I am one that totally operates from a place of

"Please like me."

"Am I doing this right?"

"Am I making you uncomfortable?"

"I'm sorry."

But, no more!

Now that I'm in my thirties, I've developed this new attitude of

"like me in all my weirdness, or don't, 'cause I'm cool with me, as is my hubs and kids and really, that's kind of all that matters to me."

So, my new thought process is one that maybe if you adopt early on, or heck, just adopt it all, will bring you a bit of more joy as it totally takes other people's opinions about you out of play.

They are not in your game. You are Player 1, my friend, and you are the one trying to level up.

Now, here's what you've got to tell the over-opinionated, quick-to-critique, always ready to judge general public...

"Mind yo' business!"

When it comes to whether or not you're going to get married -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to whether or not you're going to have babies, one or more -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to the sex of your baby -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to how often you and your spouse get busy -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to whether you are going to have a medicated or unmedicated birth -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to whether you use a doula or not -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to whether you breastfeed or formula feed -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to whether you're trying to lose the baby weight or not -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to letting your child use a pacifier or encouraging them to self-soothe -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to co-sleeping or letting them cry it out -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to helicopter parenting or raising free-range kids -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to sending your child to preschool or keeping them home with you -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to going back to work, working from home, or staying a SAHM -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to whether you send your kids to a public or private school -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to whether you pack healthy homemade lunches or reheated delivery pizza from the night before -- tell them to mind their business.

When it comes to whether you plan lavish birthday parties or celebrate with an at-home movie, dino nuggets, and a mini-cupcake -- tell them to mind their business.

Whether you allow your kids to watch lots of TV or regularly enforce digital detoxes -- tell them to mind their business.

Whether your marriage is easy or you have to work at it -- tell them to mind their business.

Whether your pleasant mood is natural or something you struggle to maintain -- tell them to mind their business.

Whether your kids are enrolled in tons of activities or you opt-out of that tiring nonsense -- tell them to mind their business.

Whether your kids get A's, B's, or C's -- tell them to mind their business.

Whether your PTA president or stray from any additional responsibility -- tell them to mind their business.

Whether the person is your

family member,

friend,

acquaintance,

stranger,

coworker,

or even your boss,

if they ever try to meddle in your business for the purpose of

passing judgment,

silently or outwardly,

please,

in the nicest way possible,

inform them to MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS.

And, then, quite simply, keep going about yours.

This is your life.

These are your kids.

This is your marriage.

These are your choices, and you owe no one an explanation.
