Finding the balance

I think one of the hardest things about parenting is finding the balance between focusing on your children and keeping focus on your relationship as well. It is I so easy to put your relationship on autopilot...which is totally necessary sometimes for sure. But doing that too often can lead to an emotional disconnect with your partner. Emotional intimacy is a powerful bond that needs to be nurtured. Love love love the kids, but don’t forget to love and connect with your partner. Once the spark goes out it can be difficult to reignite....get ahead of it! I have written a book based on my past experience with this and wanted to share. The title is The Sharing Journal available on Amazon and it’s is a couples workbook but with a twist. It is filled with fun engaging and thought provoking questions about yourself, your partner and your relationship as a whole. Once you each have finished your copies of the book you swap them to read each other’s answers! I promise that no matter how well you think you know someone you will discover something new and rediscover things about yourself! This ultimately leads to fun and important dialogue.
