Forgiving Ourselves

As someone with three kids including a toddler, a wife who works full-time and my own business, feeling stretched too thin is an ever-present fact of life.

Whether it's trying to get my work done, getting the kids to school on time or just keeping up with what each ones needs when, it's a battle. Things get forgotten, I feel crap and the kids get annoyed.

I think the most important thing is to take some time out every day no matter how busy you are. I give myself a "lunch break" every day which is just about me. The kids get TV for that hour and I chose not to feel bad. It helps me feel sane and I do a better job the rest of the time.

But most of all, I forgive myself when I don't get it all right. When I just can't do everything and be everywhere at once.
