Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

I see you, mama, sitting on the potty, wondering just how long you can hide out before your kids or spouse catch on to the fact that perhaps you're not really "going."

I see you, mama, lingering a few extra minutes to catch

your breath,
some quiet,
some peace,
more patience.

I see you, mama, rushing your business to tend to your business of raising those needy but spectacular humans who are, undoubtedly, just outside that bathroom door.

I see you, mama, having a good cry, one that no one but you will know you had.

I see you, mama, with the weight of this crazy world on your shoulders, just trying to take a pause.

I see you, mama, because, like you, I do it too.

And, my hope, well, it's that next time you head to loo, find comfort in the fact that I'm probably in mine too, praying for strength, not just for me, but for you also.

I see you, mama, pulling up your big girl britches, getting ready to take on another day, and I've just got to say,

you're amazing.
