As soon as we met, I knew you were mine. The warmth of your embrace and the sound of your voice felt like something I already knew and understood deep inside my heart.

Everything you do for me matters, and this is what I want you to know…

When you hold my hand, I feel safe

When you hug me tight, I feel secure

When you laugh, I feel joy

When you smile, I see God

When you sing, I hear angels

When you dance, I feel free

When you cry, I feel real

When you encourage me, I feel brave

When you forgive me, I feel worthy

When you trust me, I feel empowered

When you accept me, I feel whole

When you love me, I feel loved

Momma, I love being with you.

Every day when I wake up, I think of you. When I’m away at school or with a friend, I think of you. When you say goodnight and leave my room, I think of you.

I want you to know I love you and need you just as you are. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Because just as you are is everything to me.

Just as you are is who I want to be.

You are mine. And I am yours.
