Our pregnancy was the best and most exciting experience. I️ was healthy, baby was healthy, I️ felt great and we were both overly excited to be first time parents. We never expected for our baby boy to be born only for him to have to be taken right to the NICU. We were young and both first time parents and this was never even a thought that crossed our minds. You don’t think about your baby being unhealthy when you’re so over the moon excited. I️t wasn’t even a thought that crossed our minds once. I️ was induced because of high blood pressure at 37 weeks. I️ cried. I️ knew I️t wasn’t time heat and he still had growing to do! I️ was heart broken to leave the hospital without my new perfect baby. I️ came to the hospital with a baby in by belly and left with no baby in my belly and no baby in my arms. Our NICU nurses were the BEST, most encouraging and patient women I️ could have asked for. They cared for our baby so much. They weren’t bothered when I️ called all outs of the night. They encouraged me so much on my breatfeeding journey considering I️ had no clue what I️ was doing. They day we got to bring him home they were so happy for us. No one wants to leave their baby at the hospital, but they really are placed in the best hands! Our boy is 2 years old now and so healthy and strong and we have the men and women of the NICU to thank for so much of that!
