Before the baby came, I worried so much about having all the essentials, the perfect bassinet, the crib, the perfect stroller, the $$$ gliding rocker with the custom cover, the countless accessories. I wish I had saved the money and waited to buy what I really needed, when I needed it.

I sat in the gliding rocker exactly twice. I was so certain it would make breast-feeding effortless or would soothe the baby to peaceful sleep. I had a c-section with my first, so sitting and holding my newborn son while nursing was not an option. And my fussy baby would have nothing to do with rocking or gliding. He was a baby who insisted we stand while holding him. So the gliding rocker became the most expensive cat bed ever.
