Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

During my first pregnancy, I envisioned how I'd be the mom who was organized with a perfectly packed diaper bag and would be able to handle working full-time then come home to cook a homemade meal for my little family.

I'd be Supermom minus the cape and settle for nothing less.

In theory, I was getting a little ahead of myself. Sure I had enough confidence in my abilities and figured I'd master motherhood in no time.

I'm laughing out loud as I write this wanting to say to the younger me that my ambition to be the Supermom was a good one. I give myself props for believing in myself before walking out of those hospital doors with a newborn without actually knowing what I was doing. The motivation was there, but I had no clue everything I'd be doing as a new mom would be on only 3-5 hours of sleep for the first few years of my child's life.

Scratch that.

You'll be sleep deprived well into your child's teenage years. I wish I were kidding! Three kids later I'm still trying to get caught up on sleep I missed out on since 1996.

Life has a funny way of testing your limits and sanity. What I learned is how easy it was to be my daughter's superhero just by remembering to pack her favorite sippy cup or finding that one Barbie shoe because the other 100 pair of shoes didn't go with Malibu Stacy's outfit.

It doesn't take much effort to morph into being Supermom.

If you don't believe me, take a look at the smile on your child's face the next time you serve them their favorite meal or help find something that was probably right in front of them the whole time. Your kids' reaction will prove just how super you are to them.
