We love oatmeal and make it at least a few times a week. There are a few ways we like to make it…stove top, using a slow cooker or baked. One of the reasons why I baking oatmeal is because once it’s in the oven your work is done. When cooking on the stove top you need to cook it for awhile and you need to be very hands on with the cooking process because you need to stir it constantly. We all know about busy mornings. When trying to get the kids out the door you want to make your life easier, not harder.
Baked Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
- Yield: 6 servings
- Prep Time: 10 min
- Cooking Time: 1 hr
Ingredients
- 2 cups 5 Grain Rolled Oats
- 2 cups organic milk
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup organic brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 medium apples peeled and diced.
- 4 slices of unsalted butter
Preparation
- In a 9x9 glass dish combine the oats, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
- In a large mixing up mix together milk, vanilla and eggs
- Add wet mixture to dry oat mixture
- Add peeled and diced apples to the oat mixture and then blend well until everything is incorporated.
- Place 4 slices of butter on top
- Cook at 325 for 45 minutes or until it's fully set.
- Serve with milk or top with greek yogurt

Definitely try this Bake Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal which you could easy prepare all the dry ingredients the night before so in the morning all you need to do is add the wet ingredients and chop the apples. Cooking Tip: Use Bob’s Red Mill 5 Grain Rolled Cereal instead of regular rolled oats. The 5 Grain Rolled Oats have whole wheat, rye, barley, triticale and flaxseed. It’s a lot of oatmeal only better. One serving provides more than half of your daily recommended amount of whole grains.
