I actually fast in the morning, in terms of solid food. So this is my alternative to traditional breakfast. But this coffee is so rich, velvety and fillling, it keeps me fully energised for the morning!
Energising and Filling: Keto Protein Coffee
Ingredients
- Coffee
- Protein powder
- Coconut oil or MCT oil
Preparation
- Brew the coffee, let it cool off for a minute
- Add coffee, powder and oil to your blender and blitz for 5 seconds

The traditional keto coffee recipe use coconut oil and coffee. This fills you up, lowers your appetite and changes your fat-burning from carbs to fat. But to me, I need a little more oomph to feel satisfied for the rest of the morning, so I add protein powder. It also feels a little less harsh on my stomach. And it's enough to get me through the morning!
Make sure the coffee is not too hot, otherwise it will create too much pressure which can be dangerous. I had that one time with my magic bullet blender, it started spitting out coffee because I put it in too hot. So be careful!
