Pan Seared Cabbage
- Servings: 1 cup

Ingredients
- ½ head purple cabbage
- ½ head green cabbage
- ½ onion, chopped
- zest of ½ lemon
- juice of 1 lemon
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tbls mustard seeds
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbls butter
Preparation
- Chop Cabbage and onion
- Melt butter in skillet on medium
- Add lemon zest, let sizzle but not burn
- Add cabbage and onion to skillet and toss to coat with butter-zest
- Add remaining dry ingredients and toss to coat
- Cover and cook on medium high for 5 minutes
- Uncover, add lemon juice, toss to coat
- Cover and cook another 5 minutes
- Keep skillet hot to get the golden brown nutty flavor
- Uncover, taste, add spices if needed
- Cook to desired tenderness
