This spicey Cajun shrimp appetizer will wake up you palate !

Spicey Cajun Shrimp

  • Servings: 2 cups
  • Yield: 3 servings
  • Prep Time: 1 hr
  • Cooking Time: 15 min

Ingredients

  • 15 16-20 count size shrimp devained and shell on
  • 1 tsp of cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tsp of fresh oregano
  • ½ tsp of papricka
  • 5 tbls butter ( salted or unsalted )
  • 5 thinly sliced garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 4 oz. clam juice
  • 4 oz. beer
  • zest of one whole lemon
  • 1 tbls of fresh lemon juice

Preparation

  1. saute for 15 minutes
  2. add 4 tbls of butter and all of the garlic. warm pan to melt butter. Turn off once butter is melted
  3. let sit for 45 minutes to infuse flavor
  4. turn pan back on and add all of the seasonings, fresh herbs worcestershire and clam juice along with lemon zest
  5. simmer for 5 minutes
  6. add beer and simmer for another 2-3 minutes
  7. add shrimp and lemon juice and cook on one side for about 2-3 minutes and turn, cook for another 2 -3 minutes add 1 tbls of butter to finish sauce and serve

Recipe Tags

Serve in appetizer bowl with some of the sauce poured over the shrimp. I serve it with toast points for dipping in the sauce.
