Benson is a family advocate, author and writer. She is the former Senior Producer for Phil Donahue’s talk show and a former nationally syndicated columnist. Her most recent books are To Have And Not To Hold, her memoir of being a birthmother, and Adopting Hope, a collection of stories, tips, advice and lessons learned from adoptive parents, birthparents and adoptees.
