Whitney Lindsay
I'm originally from Washington State, but currently live in Central Texas with my husband of over 10-years, our son, and many dogs/cats. My family lives the life of a military family, moving all over the world and changing residencies every 2-3 years. The military life brings both many blessings, as well as challenges, when it comes to raising a family.
While my husband still serves in the US Army, I left the service in 2017 and became a wildland firefighter and volunteer within a veteran non-profit organization aimed at helping our community and service members adjust to civilian life.
I went to college at the University of Washington and majored in political science: international security and minored in military science. While in Washington, I attended ROTC at my university and volunteered for many years with a search and rescue unit. Search and rescue has always been a passion of mine because as a mother, I would want someone out there helping me to find my child/children and bring them home.
In 2018, I founded a mom community called "Drinking Mommies" after growing tired of seeing so many groups setting unrealistic expectations on motherhood and moms in general. Drinking Mommies is varied on their content, that ranges anywhere from humor based videos/memes, heartfelt blogs, a weekly talk show, a parenting based podcast, as well as custom made mom drinks!
So, there you have it! My life in a nutshell. All of my views are based solely on me and me alone. Each mom within Drinking Mommies holds her own views and beliefs that are unique to her. Please feel free to engage me, or our other moms, in open dialogue. We would love to hear from you!
