What if I don't want to

Even reading through the parenting posts here every other one says "put yourself first" or something to that effect. But what if I don't want to? I had 25 years to myself before kids. And I'll hopefully have plenty more when they all go to college. But right now I want to put them first. I want them to have nicer things than me. I don't over indulge or crazily spoil my girls, but I get them what I can. I read how it's important to take trips without your kids. Why? I want them to experience it too. Is it so bad that I enjoy my kids? I catch slack from others because my girls don't have a bedtime during the summer. Why should they? I'm home so they don't have to get up early. We stay up until midnight. Who is it hurting? Nobody. I honestly think parents make their kids go to sleep early so they don't have to deal with them. (If they don't have to be up early) so that would be putting yourself first. And if you need that, go for it. I'm not judging. So don't judge me for not needing it. If I dont want to put myself first right now,why should I?
