Holidays can be hard for those who have suffered from a miscarriage or pregnancy loss. If you're struggling with the holiday season know you are not alone. Holidays and other times of celebration often magnify feelings of grief and trauma, leaving many people who've lost a baby with little to no holiday cheer. Below find a few ways to reduce the overwhelming feelings you may be having today…

1. Do a good deed: helping others has always been cathartic for me. It doesn’t have to be big either, small acts of kindness including holding a door or smile can help fill your cup.
2. Understand your limits today: they maybe different from yesterday or what they will be tomorrow. It’s ok to to leave holiday event early, or excuse yourself for a few minutes outside alone! The fresh air can lower your stress level in under a minute!
3. Don’t feel guilty if your having fun!: I always say it’s ok to not be ok so you can process your feelings but it’s also ok to find joy again even if it’s for a short time. Those small moments will lead to larger moments of joy!

Most importantly remember you never know what someone is going through so choose kindness and love whenever possible this holiday season!
