I am feeling very reflective about this upcoming Mother’s Day. I am thinking about the things I am thankful for and will be remembering this Mother’s Day.

First of all, for those of you who have read my previous posts about my son’s severe migraines, I will bring you up to date. I still worry every time he gets a severe headache and I worry that it will continue on for days or weeks. I am so grateful that his headaches are only temporary and that the headaches aren’t making him violently sick. I am very thankful he is feeling better and not suffering from those horrendous headaches.

Second, I am thankful my husband has his job. We were concerned again that he and others might be let go last year. I am so grateful every day he goes to work. We have experienced unemployment before. He was unemployed 3 times in 2 years. It was rough and now you know why I say, “Thank You” every day he goes to work.

Third, I am thankful that I had the chance to start my own blog and became a new lifestyle blogger last year. I have learned a lot about blogging and I have met tons of great people online. I am constantly learning every day and I love it.

Fourth, I am thankful for my family. They are always there for you through the good and the bad times. The holidays would not be the holidays without the family.

Fifth, I am thankful for all my friends. I have had my friends for years and I would never want that to change. I love shopping, movie nights, game nights, and baking nights with my friends. I also have online friends now who encourage, inspire, and support me.

Sixth, I am thankful for nature. Sunrise and sunsets are just amazingly gorgeous.

I love to go walking and see the green grass, trees and beautiful flowers. I love hearing the birds chirp.

I enjoy watching baby birds eat little pieces of bread. The birds like to have their breakfast while I am eating my breakfast. My birds also eat eggs, and peanut butter and jelly sandwich ends. The neighborhood birds are not fussy about food.

I am thankful the birds eat leftover food.

The birds are not afraid of me. If anyone else walks in the kitchen, the birds fly away until they settle down at the kitchen table. Then, they come back to finish their breakfast.

I also get a visit from Mr. Squirrel in the morning. He will knock on my patio door looking for food and my cat. My cat lays there like a statue in the house watching Mr. Squirrel eat. Mr. Squirrel knows he is safe and he could care less if a cat is watching him.

I am thankful for Mr. Squirrel entertaining my cat.

I will be remembering all these things I am thankful for this Mother’s Day.

What are some of the things you are thankful for this Mother’s Day?
