You know what's amazing about this kid?
He likes being close and I like feeling pressure, so sometimes, he'll sit or stand on my back and we'll just hang out and watch television together.

You know what sucks about this kid?
He's five and going through a fibbing stage and I'm over here researching how much it will cost to buy a polygraph machine.

You know what's amazing about this kid?
He loves his parents so much and includes them in all his "when I'm bigger" plans. He also
lovingly wants to share the pieces of apple he already has in his mouth.

You know what sucks about this kid?
Listening is a foreign concept for him, as if I'm forcing him to learn another language.

You know what's amazing about this kid?
He's clever and inquisitive. There's never a dull moment and he keeps us alive.

You know what sucks about this kid?
He can literally suck the energy straight from the pits of your soul. He's like some kind of superhuman with unbelievable strength.

You know what's amazing about this kid?
He's friendly and inclusive. He has empathy and isn't a psychopath.

You know what sucks about this kid?
He can throw it down like nobody's business and tends to shoot of my anxiety like a rocket.

Parenting is so up and down. It's so happy and sad and mad. But there is no way I'd trade this in for anything, not even a boat - yes, it was our other option.

They say enjoy every minute. I say enjoy the sweet stuff and do what you want with the rest.

Give yourself a pat on the back for making it through the days with miniature demons spreading lava all around your life.
Be thankful you handled things the best way you could without getting shipped off to prison.

I enjoy the good times and cry over the hard ones. But no matter what, the best part for me is in the morning, when I see my feral being's face for the first time that day and he simply smiles.
