A shiny new toy...

Let go a little. I work early mornings and I always think when I'm on my way to Starbucks for my morning tea...I should have set her clothes out. I should have dictated what she should eat for lunch. And then I get lost in how good my chai tea latte is and the thought passes.

So...does it really matter if your kid isn't in designer duds to go to the playroom? If your child eats sweet potatoes instead of carrots, is it the end of the world? Micromanaging your life makes it more difficult and puts more pressure on a situation that truly doesn't matter.

All they need when leaving the house are the basics. Bottle, diapers, wipes, pacifiers, (optional, don't judge me) food AND a bag of brand new trinket $1 toys. Go to the Dollar Store and get 5 new toys and UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE do you let that child see ANY of them until desperate times. When your pride and joy screams like a maniac in the doctors office, pull out a brand new toy. It's new and shiny and will hold their attention for approximately 16 minutes. Good enough. Next time they throw a fit, new trinket. Rinse and repeat.
