I'm a big fan of traditions that happen by accident, and making homemade Valentine's Day cards for our families is one of my tip top favorites!
Our daughter Hadley was 2.5 months old on her first Valentine's Day back in 2014, and I thought it would be fun to make little cards from our baby to slip in the mail for her grandparents, aunt, uncles, and great-grandparents. We also crafted a small gift for her first Valentine, her daddy.
I honestly didn't think anything of these messy little cards, but it warmed my heart big time to get the sweetest texts from our surprised family members after they'd found them in their mailboxes on Valentine's Day.
So we did it again the next year. And the next. And now Valentine's Day is quickly approaching again, so of course we're gearing up to make them, except this time we also get to add our new addition, Sadie, to the fun.
I just wanted to share with you a few of the cards we've made in the past in case you'd like to make your own with your kiddos and need some ideas. I usually browse Pinterest and put a few different ideas together to make the final product. They're usually a little sloppy and not quite as "Pinterest worthy" as others that you may find, but they're totally doable regardless of your "crafting level". These below were also made with a ton of love with high hopes that they'd bring the biggest smiles. Considering that I usually find them on everyone's refrigerators and kitchen countertops year-round, I think we succeeded.
