The nicu experience is nothing you can describe with words. Watching your 2lb baby fight for her life and you being completely helpless, is nothing you can describe with words

. I had my daughter at 29 weeks due to preeclampsia. Preeclampsia being a fancy word for meaning that my body was toxic and failing , and my baby was not getting the things she needed from me. She stopped growing, I almost had a stroke... June 7th, 2014 I was rushed by ambulance to a hospital that had a NICU... Autry was delivered that night by emergency csection. Weighing 2lbs 13 oz and 15 inches long. Her NICU stay was over 50 days long and she came home weighing a little over 5 lbs. The experience was the most heart wrenching yet amazing experiences that I will ever witness. Between all the tubes, and machines constantly going off, nurses and doctors running around it is scary. It doesn't take long to adjust to your new normal... today I am thankful for the NICU and everyone who helped save my little girl. Today she is 3 years old, and perfectly healthy.
