A book themed baby shower can be a fun theme for any mom-to-be, especially if she is a book lover or one of those lucky moms that already has all of the baby essentials. There are so many great themes at your fingertips with fun themes to plan your shower around. Some ideas include Dr. Seuss, Alice in Wonderland, Golden Books, Peter Rabbit, etc. Pick a book or series and use those colors throughout your planning to tie it all together.
Recently, one group of San Diego
MomCo moms were pregnant with their second babies, all at the same time. They decided to combine their parties and have one baby shower to celebrate all of their upcoming births. They chose a Storybook theme in gender neutral colors, soft yellows and greens… it was absolutely adorable!
Below are some ideas for decor, favors, gifts, and food that they had at their shower. I also included some other fun ideas that can help inspire you and bring your book themed baby shower to life!
DECOR
Make storybook garland
For this baby shower, the living room was filled with storybook garland. I just love this because it gives the room a whimsical touch of fun… and after all isn’t that what reading is all about?! It was inspired by this
Martha Stewart storybook garland. A TUTORIAL is included!

FOOD
We all know that any party isn’t a party without food. There are so many ways that you can play up your food table to match your theme.
Display the food menu with books
At this shower, they covered books with colored paper and listed the nursery rhyme book menu on the spines. So adorable and it makes a great centerpiece too!
Use food toppers that includes book pages
They used toothpicks and topped them with stars cut from book pages and glued them together. Cute! All you need is a simple scrapbooking star punch and some old books. Glue the stars to toothpicks and voila!

Books or cupcake towers are a great way to display your food. It gives height and visual interest.

Have Guests Bring a Favorite Book
The mamas at this shower all had baby gear from their first babies, so the guests were asked to each bring a favorite book as a gift for the new baby and to write a note on the inside cover. This was also great for the new big brother and sisters.

For a first time mom that does need baby gear, you could ask guests to bring and sign a book rather than a card.
