While it has been heartbreaking to watch my daughter’s Senior-year celebrations slip away, I am grateful for the unexpected glimpse it has given me into how she will handle all of life’s future bumps. I know she is disappointed, but she has embraced all the little silver linings. Movie marathons and sleeping in! Realizing she now has something in common with those Hogwarts kids - they didn’t get to finish their senior year either. FaceTime marathons in between online classes have shown her and her friends that they will know how to keep in touch when they go their separate ways to college. This is a time when she should be out celebrating with her friends, but instead she’s stuck here with her family. I’m celebrating how little she seems to resent how unfair it is.
