Becoming a parent is entering the unknown world for sure. I read books, watched shows, talked to family and friends and still confused as all get out. But our kids survived the early years.

We have now entered into the abyss — the tween and teen years. You know, the phase when you're wondering who moved into your house. The moment you want the toddler back because you realize the tantrum thrown about not getting that toy was a cake walk.

When you walk to the room and give a reminder that everyone is leaving the house in 30 minutes and you swear their head did a 360-degree turn. Or when you get the blank stare after totally losing your mind because you've repeated yourself fifty times already.

Look, if you're like me, you know you've put rules into place. You know you have consequences, you know your kids aren't crazy enough to push too much, and you know they are good kids overall. But yet, you find yourself questioning your parenting skills. Honey, yes! There are some days I question those skills.

It's ok.

It's ok because you're doing your job. Your job of raising your children, being involved and setting boundaries. Stop looking to your left and your right comparing your children and your life.

Why? There is no such thing as a perfect family or perfect child. Keep on trucking and keep on parenting.
