As an expert nursery designer I wanted to share the #1 must-have with all the parents-to-be, and that is YOU! You are the most important thing in your nursery that will help you bond and nurture your baby. And design is one way that will support you to be confident in this role.
Creating a well-design aesthetic and functional nursery increases the confidence in new parents to care for their baby. Scientific research show that babes pick-up on the emotional vibe of their parents, a calmer, confident care-giver is going to perform their roles better.
Part of boosting that confidence is designing a nursery that you like, not the baby. Knowing that in the nursery thre will be crying (him or me) and frustrating moments (again him or me, you want to feel calm to carry on. Here’s one article on our blog specially about this benefit, “What These 9 Room Styles Say About You".
Since our goal at YouthfulNest is to bridge the gap between traditional interior design and DIY our blog features tons of articles related to stellar nursery design tips to get you involved and keep the overall room cost down. Recently we, along with other nursery experts, shared our #1NurseryDesign must-haves, DIY projects, style inspiration and more via a Pinterest Party and Twitter Party and just last week recapped them on our blog, “The Favorite, Nursery Favorites”.
When it comes to smart and savvy nursery design, we have tons of ideas to offer. But there is one nursery design the professionals and viewers alike have favorited, shared, pinned, tweeted, posted, reposted and featured the most in various articles is the nursery – the one I designed for my son! All the images can be viewed in our Design Gallery titled City Night Light, as well as featured with descriptive detail on our YouthfulNest Houzz account. With a customized graphic mural; clever DIY use of closet space turned changing area and storage; the perfect reading & feeding nook; personalized gallery wall; and tons of other DIY ideas. Here are a few images from this handsome and functional nursery design.
The truth is that YouthfulNest is still a “Pregnancy Secret” and we would love to see more moms-to-be helping themselves be more confident – adding our services to their baby registry or including it as part of their nursery room budget is a step in the right direction. With our design services starting at just $175, this is less than one might spend on their glider or crib.
Enjoy,
Lisa
