Spring break is the ideal time to get away with the family. The weather is perfect, and everyone is anxious to get outside. Here are some of the most popular locations for family fun during spring break. Pack a bag and hit the road, or simply head out for the day if you're on a budget. Whatever activity you choose, your little ones will always remember the time you spent with them away from home and school, enjoying the sunshine and time together.

1. Amusement and Water Parks

Disney may be a plane ride away, but the family can have just as much fun on a budget at a nearby amusement park. Check out the amusement parks that are an easy day-roadtrip away. This way, the dreaded long car ride with a toddler is much more manageable and the “Are we there yet?” question is asked an acceptable amount of times. Don't Forget: Bring plenty of sunscreen and a few bandages in case of blisters. If you have a stroller in tow, a couple of towels will come in handy for water rides. While You're Away: Staying close to home eliminates the need to search for a pet sitter or stop mail delivery; however, you may want to pay attention to weather forecasts, adjust your outdoor sprinklers, and secure outdoor umbrellas and equipment. Thunderstorms are more likely to occur during the spring, and inclement weather without proper preparation could cause undue stress during your time of relaxation.

2. Camping

Even if you don't have much camping experience, nearby Camp Fire Camps frequently offer weekend and week-long camps for the entire family during spring break. Popular activities include archery, horseback riding, swimming, crafts, campfire songs, basketball, kayaking and tennis. Most camps have cabins with bunk beds, so you don't have to buy expensive gear or sleep on the hard ground. On the way to the campsite; you can learn fireside songs with your kids and give them guidebooks on ways to stay safe and have fun in the great outdoors. This is a great way to distract from the long drive and teach valuable survival lessons. Don't Forget: Bring your camera because your kids will be learning new activities they may learn to love for the rest of their lives.

3. The Beach

The beach is a popular destination for families at spring break, but search for a private beach at a resort. Public beaches are packed with teenagers and college kids during spring break. Your kids will love kicking and splashing until the sun goes down. Then, since you've already packed the lawn chairs and cooler, search for the nearest drive-in theater. A car ride along the coast and stopping in small costal towns along the way is the perfect way to take a drive with the little ones. Allowing them the chance to peer at the ocean and watch the waves from a distance will fill them with ease and give them something exciting to look at besides their screen. Don't Forget: It's a good idea to pack a power bank for your electronics, which will quickly run out of power when you're snapping photos of the kids for Facebook. Waterproof cases are also a must for kids and adults. Take toys and inflatables. You can play frisbee at both the beach and the drive-in. Spring break is right around the corner. Take time to enjoy life's little pleasures, especially the ones you created yourself! Time spent with family and friends making memories is never time wasted, treat yourself to time away from work and responsibilities at home.
