I was full term... just over 40 weeks and being induced. We were so excited and I was thrilled I didn’t have to play the waiting game any longer! Our first child, our baby girl, was born after a long 24 hr labor. None of us expected there would be any issues but as quickly as she was placed on my chest, she was taken away again. She wasn’t breathing and needed to be taken to NICU. That was by far the scariest moment of my life. Completely unexpected and completely overwhelming. Luckily, she only spent 5 days in NICU but it was the longest 5 days of our lives. The nurses were amazing and taught us how to be parents there in the NICU. Our daughter is a healthy 1.5 yr old now and has the lungs of lion!
