We watched Tomorrowland again. Our first time seeing the film I noticed the phrase in the film, “What if there’s Everything?” The conversation went something like this: This little girl looks at the stars in outer space, and tells her dad that she wants to go there someday. But, her dad says, “What if there is nothing?”
And, the little girl counters, “What if there is everything?”
I love her hopeful spirit in life. People who are not bogged down by worry and concern and obstacles, but instead they move forward and live large and dream.
Even if they fail, at least they have tried and risked.
As I watched the movie again with my kids the other night, another phrase stood out to me:
“I was made to find the dreamers.”
Wow, I love that. What is a dreamer to me? Someone who is positive. Someone who is hopeful. Someone who looks ahead. Someone who believes there is good somewhere and looks for it. Someone who has a positive attitude. Someone who is always looking ahead. Someone with dreams. Someone going after their goals despite the obstacles. Someone looking for the hope.
And, we grow in community, so the idea of finding the dreamers is to look for, to seek out others who are dreamers. Others who care. Others who have positive outlook. Others who believe.
It's all about Adventure to me.
Part of my mission in life is to help others find the dreamers. I try to help my kids dream big dreams and to find other dreamers along the adventure of this life. I want my children to look for friends who are positive, for people who live life to the fullest, for a community of folks who risk a little and who adventure big, even if it means failing along the way. Friends who dream.
Be a dreamer and find other dreamers. Dream big dreams.
