When my 24 week miracle was about to turn one, I knew we needed to have a big celebration. I polled his siblings looking for the perfect theme. Sesame Street was the overwhelming favorite.
My preschooler insisted that we couldn't have a proper party without party hats. Wouldn't you know, the party store didn't have any solid colored hats so I headed over to the craft store to buy colored card stock and ribbon.
Muppet eyes added a little bit of fun. I love the way these turned out!
It wasn't hard to coming up with fun preschool friendly snacks.
Slimey the Worm was always a favorite of mine. All I needed was a vase and a bag of gummy worms. This looked so cute until the temperature started to rise. By the end of the afternoon we had a bit of worm soup.
My kids love goldfish crackers as much as Elmo loves his goldfish, Dorothy. This snack was a huge hit!
Tootsie Pops are the perfect shape for monster heads. I cut squares of tissue paper which I then fastened to the lollipops with twist ties. I added eyes and noses to round out the look.
This small plastic trash can and a bunch of plastic baseballs made for a fun party game.
The kids were excited to go home with these crayon party favors.
Small packages of chocolate chip cookies were easily transformed into Cookie Monsters.
My kids love their veggies. These trays were fun and easy to put together.
