One of my favorite things to do is to take our children to their events: the hockey, soccer, and swim practices, school choral concerts, sleepovers at friends even the town holiday parades. It's the welcome ritual of family life and something I know they'll remember and I hope, appreciate when they get older.
Like many fathers, I constantly lose track of who is supposed to be where, and when. My wife Shannon keeps it all straight and then doles it out to me in increments I can remember.....so I get to be the one who says "Hey Olivia, you've got soccer today at 4.. hey Andrew, let's go... we've got to be on Staten Island in an hour." The kids think I've got it all together and that's great with me. So I guess I feel the things dads do best is look like they're in charge.
