Gluten-free Halloween

With Halloween only a few days away I wanted to share my thoughts and hear yours on how you handle being a gluten-free family on this over the top candy filled holiday!

First of all, we check the candy! There are a great deal of candies that are gluten-free, however, some have hidden gluten that you don’t expect! Some candy is gluten free except for special holiday or shaped versions. There are great resources online for you to use to check your child’s candy.

Second, we like to give what we know Dylan can have! Dylan is in kindergarten and is very aware of what he can and cannot have. He has a blast handing out candy, almost as much as getting it, so we love to give out some of his favorites. Yum Earth Lollipops, Candy Corn, and Gummies as well as fun little dollar store treats like spider rings, vampire teeth, and Halloween pencils are some of his favorites!

Last, Dylan and I make several healthy Halloween treats that we can enjoy leading up to holiday as well as Halloween night! One of his favorites is my Chunky Monkey Trail Mix.

So, how do you celebrate a “Spooktacular Halloween.”
