Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

My littlest son came down with a virus and a very high fever so I was up much of last night checking on him and making sure he was comfortable.

I put a deep conditioner on my hair with every intention of rinsing it out and washing it last night. That didn’t happen.

I meant to set an alarm this morning so I could get up and make everyone breakfast before they woke up. That didn’t happen.

I always get my coffee ready at night so it automatically is made in the morning when I wake up. That didn’t happen.

But you know what did happen? I was able to snuggle my son and let him know I’m here for whatever he needs.

This weekend as we think of those who gave their lives for our freedom and as we mourn the loss of so many young innocent lives, I encourage you to adjust your focus.

Am I tired today? Absolutely.
Could I focus on that? Absolutely.
But will I? Not for a second.

Today the only feeling I have is gratitude. Gratitude that I am able to hold my baby and spend time with him as he gets better. Gratitude that I’m tired because I was able to check on him all night. Gratitude that I woke up to a house full of chattering little boys.

Whatever you have going on today.
I encourage you.
Shift your focus and be thankful.
