When you stop trying to be the perfect mother, you discover you’re actually quite good.
You stop listening to the outside world and start listening to your children.
You stop listening to trends and start listening to your soul.
You stop listening to critics and start listening to people who love you.
But it’s not easy, and the messages follow us everywhere.
And, often, we are paralyzed by it all:
My meals aren’t healthy enough.
My house isn’t fancy enough.
My life isn’t sexy enough.
And, at some point, we just get tired.
But, today, I want to encourage your heart with a simple reminder:
Long before you first believed you fell short, God spoke into your heart with a single word: mother.
And, for years, He has been preparing you for battle against the enemy of perfectionism.
So, embrace the gifts within and silence the temptation to be better.
God has never stopped believing in you.
And never will your children.
