When Kate started Kindergarten 2 years ago, I was worried about a few things.
The biggest one, though?
Lunch.
I had no idea what kind of lunch box I wanted for her, what kind of lunch containers to use, and what I would pack her for lunch. As I navigated these waters, I hashtagged every post & photo about lunch as #SchoolLunch.
This is a good place for me to let you know that our kids' school is nut free. They also heat up their lunches. However, they only heat them up for 20 seconds so nothing is ever hot. Besides, my kids never eat food when it's hot. For the hot items listed, you can pack them in a thermos, unless, you know, your kids never eat a hot meal ever, either? I'm thinking they may not.
Kate and I brainstormed a list of possibilities for lunch and keep the list on the refrigerator. It's full of healthy choices that are nut free and we make them gluten free too.
Here are our staples. Print this list out and stick it on your refrigerator!
What else can I addd to this list? What is a favorite in your house?
