Our first baby, the baby we tried for for four years, and our oldest of four kiddos, Alex, was just a few weeks away from walking across the stage to receive his well-deserved high school diploma. My mama heart has hurt and my tears have flown over and over this year thinking of the moment...the moment our baby walks into his future. How does 18 years go by so fast? Family, friends and strangers always said it would, but you never believe it until you’re there. Seriously, young parents, don’t blink!
Now, I cry over not seeing that walk. But, Alex is resilient and and if he can adapt, be a leader and thrive while being a military child for 16 of those 18 years, he can handle anything. He’s kind, brilliant (33 on the ACT, higher than 4.0 GPA, etc.), quiet and rolling with the punches. Whether he walks the big stage or not, we’re right behind him, cheering him on (from our couch 🙂) and so, so incredibly proud! #classof2020
