You must know how to pick perfect wedding dresses as per body type.

Pear-shaped body

The best wedding dress here would be the one where the skirt flares out gradually in A form from natural waist till floor- emphasizing on narrowness of midsection, swaying away from thighs and hips. Go for sturdier fabrics like duchesse satin & taffeta. V-neckline or spaghetti-strap bodice would be perfect.

P.S. “The A-line silhouette seems perfect for the formal weddings yet could be well dressed down whilst made from casual fabrics like raw-silk shantung or eyelet lace.

Busty body

If you are busty go for a wedding dress with scooped neckline which would open up the face & display décolletage sans too much of cleavage. Do you fancy a strapless gown? Good- go for the one with light dip along neckline, such as sweetheart instead of a style which goes right across.

P.S. : Fabric on bodice with a sheen on it (like silk, satin or organza) would add on volume & pull attention to the chest. Ruched materials would also have similar effect.

Plus-sized body

An Empire gown would be perfect which has a skirt starting right under bust & flowing gradually to floor-length A-line. Just make sure that your Empire seam doesn’t start on chest & there’s no fabric pleats. The dress must complement your very shape- if it is too loose, you would only be highlighting on the extra pounds.

P.S.- Go for fabrics such as satin which offers structure instead of something too flowy. Are you fond of romantic airier fabrics? Go for a dress with stiffer base & then highlight with embroidered tulle.

Apple-shaped body

If you have an apple-shaped body, go for a dress which clinches at smallest point at waistline & then gradually flared out to a classy A shape. Get a bodice that carries ample texture with it- such as lace or ruche detailing- which would camouflage & fit snugly, portraying a good corset-like feel. It’s advised that you take to deep-V neckline that would pull attention not to the horizontal, but the vertical.

P.S: Try to avoid the trumpet dress-styles that stress on the widest part of your body & flare out down at knees and legs where the body is most slender.

Tall brides

A nice simple silhouette would create wonders with a tall bride. The strategy here is to stress on your blessed natural shape and hence all aspects of your dress- such as floor-sweeping hem, lower waistline- requires to highlight your beautiful longer proportions. In case you are donning long sleeves, these should move past your wrist.

P.S.-As you’re statuesque, you would prefer err on side of say simplicity, in regards to embellishments. Excessive bells & whistles, such as rosettes and riffles, could look a bit overdose on especially a tall portfolio.

A straight-lined portfolio

If you don a straight-line portfolio your wedding pick should be a dress which can create the desired curves where one doesn’t have them. You can check out a nice sheath dress here with wispy charmeuse which is cut on bias; it’s curved side seam would come up with a very va-va-va-voom silhouette. You can also try out ball gown which clinches at natural waist & then descends to a flowing full floor-length skirt. The dress would capitalize on the slenderness & camouflage the absence of a fuller hip.

P.S. When you have small bust, check out bodice with ruching for better volume.

A petite figure

If you are petite, go for the sheath, trumpet & modified A-line wedding dress. Find a smart style with waistline over the natural waist – it would create a longish feel for the lower part of your dress which in turn will make you look longer. You can have any fabric you like to. However, be careful of the detailing; it should be brief & limited to bodice to pull attention upward. Don’t go for huge bows here.

P.S. Beware of the dresses that come with dropped waist since that would make the legs seem almost non-existent. Avoid the ball gowns as well as the voluminous skirt can almost vanish you. The fashion experts even advice to stay away from calf-length dresses since these make the legs look shorter.

If you are small-chested

Go for a nice ruched bodice here. Additional fabric on top would help to fill up the upper part of the body, creating the desired curves. You can even check out slightly padded halter dresses.

P.S.- Go for a right bra that would be able to render a smart boost. But if you are taking to a backless or strapless gown, the bra option is always limited. However, you can check out silicone self-adhesive bra cups here.
