I am your mother and my job is to show you what you haven't seen yet. I will show you how to tie your shoes and I will show you how to write your name. I will show you how to ride a bike and I will show you that when you fall you will sometimes need help getting up and you will sometimes need to get up on your own. I will show you that this world that is full of unexpected beauty and I will show you how to find that beauty in unexpected places.

I will show you that a person's worth is not measured by the mistakes they make, but what they do after they have made them.

I will show you show my favorite movies and I will show you that the best books are worth rereading.

I will show you that emotions are complicated and I will show you that it is okay to feel every single one of them.

I will show you that your family can feel like friends and that your friends can feel like family.

I will show you how to bake cookies and I will show you to always add more chocolate chips than the recipe says.

I will show you that the hardest part of life is letting go of a dream and I will show you that it's possible to see that dream in a new and different way.

I will show you that people are to be celebrated for exactly who they are and I will show you the one million reasons there are to celebrate yourself.

I will show you how to do long division and I will show you that, even when there are shortcuts, it's worth knowing how to navigate the long way.

I will show you that taking care of people matters and I will show you the work we need to do to make sure it happens.

I will show you how to receive love from others and I will show you that it's easiest to share love when you receive it from yourself.

I will show you these things because I know that you are watching. I know that you are watching me because I am watching you.

I am watching you because you are my child and your job is to show me what I haven't seen yet.
