I missed you.
You’ve grown.
You weigh more than half of me.
You stand tall past my neck.
You don’t stop to snuggle anymore.
You don’t need me to help.
You’ve grown.
You get your own snacks.
You read your own books.
You don’t care for lullabies.
You’re self-sufficient.
You’ve grown.
You entertain yourself.
You play your games.
You talk to your friends.
You are your own person.
You’ve grown.
My sweet little boy.
Late to speak.
Late to develop.
Late to socially interact.
You’ve caught up and then some.
You’ve grown.
Once a toddler.
Then a little boy.
Now a young man.
You’re still here.
You never left.
But you’ve grown.
I missed you.
Thank you for stopping to let me breathe you in when I got home tonight.
Your long lanky body.
Too big for my lap.
If only for a second.
My sweet boy.
Oh how you’ve grown.
I missed you.
Love & Hugs.
