Welp...
I just came across a news headline informing me that *Celebrity X* is setting a great example for her child because she's not "running around and shouting and getting angry," and while I extend all my bravos to her [seriously, I give her kudos out the wazoo], I cannot help to think that I surely
run around,
shout
AND get angry,
AND I'M STILL A GREAT EXAMPLE FOR MY KIDS.
Could I be better?
For damn sure.
Could I
have more patience,
maintain better compsure,
be slower to exasperate or frustrate,
and speak like calm clam at every turn? Of course.
But I don’t. Not always at least. Rarely ever.
BUT I TRY.
And I keep trying.
And for any other tryers [autocorrect tried to change that to fryers and honestly that’s accurate ‘cause we do kinda set things ablaze with our explosive and reactive nature],
I just want you to know… we’re good examples too.
Because we’re the real deal — imperfect to our core, flawed as fudge, but getting up every single day hellbent on bringing up and raising authentic, compassionate, non-judgmental, grace-giving, uber-humble but eternally self and other-loving humans.
We’re good examples, too, and, yeah I said it a third time ‘cause it bears repeating.
